In the name of Allah, the most Merciful, the most Beneficient
“…..And spy not neither backbite one another. Would one of you like to eat the flesh of his dead brother? You would hate it (so hate backbiting). And fear Allah, verily, Allah is the one who accepts repentance, Most Merciful” (Al-Hujuraat: 12).
In Islam we are advised not to seek too much interest into the private affairs of anyone. Whoever is busy with themselves and their own faults Allah subhanahu wa ta’ala will suffice them and protect them from the eyes of others.
The messenger alayhis salam says;
“Whoever follows/exposes the secret affairs of a believer, Allah will follow his secret affairs” (ie. Allah will cause those who will expose him/her just as they have done to others).
Ahmad (19277) and Abu Dawood (4880) narrated that Abu Barzah al-Aslami said: “The Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: ‘O you who have spoken the words of faith but faith has not truly entered your hearts! Do not backbite about the Muslims, and do not seek out their faults. For whoever seeks out their faults, Allaah will seek out his faults, and if Allaah seeks out a person’s faults He will expose him even in his own house.’” Classed as saheeh by al-Albaani in Saheeh Abi Dawood, 4083.
“Avoid much suspicion; indeed some suspicions are sins. And spy not…”49:12
